annie dodson this album is so cohesive and truly feels like one masterpiece, one body of work conveying one theme. gentle and haunting but very raw and unrestricted. very vulnerable lyrics which result in the most beautiful songs in the world! <3 Favorite track: ithaca.

2.
feed 02:50
i hope you brought your coat with you we're smoking in an alley outside your room but you don't look exhausted you're just upset the we can't hold it in we feed each other's fears i don't know what you're saying just remember that we love you and we did before you came in i know how to read a sign i can sense an omen before it comes the wind blew me backwards you should see the stars form the yard we feed each other's fears i don't know what you're saying just remember that we love you and we did before you came in
3.
mortar 02:09
you want the style but you flinch at the rust and the wiring and it bunches into clots on the mortar it could snap, i don't care if it matters if they do and she promises to think of you something i can cling to when it's empty space instead of a warmth, or a hope that warmth will spread through your voice and betray the fog you catch on your heels and i'll wait till i hear steps in the hall for my breath to sink you spend your days picking burrs off your coat until it's clean even i can see you're burning through your fuel common tools you should sleep but you're stuck to your sheet and it's warm and you're awake and part of him expects to wake with you but it's sand in the sole and it's ground into the end, he will hold your heart as often as he can in his world, which is smaller when he sleeps on his own, sets his own reminders watch how he folds under pressure and he thrives in the holes left in schedules and he screams at the thought that he's really who he is and my chest is tight again
4.
as long as you tie yourself to me there will be nothing sincere only the veneer of happiness nothing that we say is clear and i will only drag us both along you can call my name, but don't expect a thing i will not respond as long as you tie yourself to me there will be splinters form the mast deep within your back's muscles as i try to make our water last i will only drag us both along you can call my name, but don't expect a thing i will not respond as long as you tie yourself to me there will be no understanding gained there will be no grand epiphanies and no middle ground for you to claim i will only drag us both along you can call my name, but don't expect a thing i will not respond you can call my name, but don't expect a thing i will not respond
5.
come over 02:18
you don't know how small i am until you've held me in your arms i will put on my cruelest face and hope the plaster latches on we will talk in circles, we will pepper in remarks we're not invested in you're in all the papers (you're in all the papers) you have claimed the shots and when they take another (and when they take another) another car will stall in front of intersections you're the owner of the heart that i am questioning again, come over you don't know what you're asking (you don't know what you're asking) when you question where we are it's open seams in fabric (it's open seams in fabric) that come unraveled by the score and every spool tips off another (and every spool tips off another) and i wonder who you are as you stare right through me you could consume me at a moments notice, you consume me come over come over come over come over come over come over
6.
the field is overflowing they have given up the lines there are little games cutting up the middle we sat down, and the band was out tonight we saw them play you could hear them howl in tune if only i could listen to them now a song i don't remember they continued up until the flame rolled off the table the singer looked enlightened he was older than them all my legs have always put their weakness in the middle we sat down, and the band was out tonight we saw them play you could hear them howl in tune if only i could listen to you now a song i don't remember they continued up until the flame rolled off the table another day is over, they have given up the light as another word is spit into the netting we sat down, and the band was out tonight we saw them play you could hear them howl in tune if only i could listen to them now a song i don't remember they continued up until the flame burns off the table
7.
dark green moss is growing from the base of the building the glass is dirty and yellow in between the double pane my gluttony is nothing and i don't treasure convenience you will never want for everything and its not sweet, like i mean it to be there is little i say that has any weight but you still wait for responses as i've waited for yours i have never been sure what we will send away dark green moss will cover me i will be the foundation life will come from my body after i have gone away and i am right to trust you even if there's no reason i want to tell you everything and it's not death in any meaningful sense just a releasing of breath i no longer need and in spirit i will stay, taking moments from your morning in the dy i remain barely seen you will see (you will see) you will see (you will see) you will see (you will see) you will see (you will see) you will see (you will see) you will see (you will see) you will see (you will see) you will see (you will see) you will see

saint saint 04:54
saint, i've been tied to you since i was six i never went ashore; i am no citizen you froze me on the corner of university and main and even now i wait for you i wanted you to see where i went wrong i dream that i am falling patiently into your arms but i know that isn't what i want saint, i will wait for you to freeze and snow will settle on you (watch her as she goes inside) saint, you are unaware of me but you move as if you know (always know that you are right) that you are right you are always right (always know that you are right) saint, as a bulb burns out above your string it's hard to dell the difference from a distant scene and it's getting colder every week saint, i will wait for you to freeze and snow will settle on you (watch her as she goes inside) saint, you are unaware of me but you move as if you know (always know that you are right) that you are right you are always right (always know that you are right) watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside watch her as she goes inside always know that you are right always know that you are right

about

this album is about shapelessness and decay, and depending on one another. thank you to Anaïs for her beautiful vocals. thank you to Rosa for leaving me a largely incoherent message to close the album. thank you to Léa for helping me with the intro, and Anika for playing stylophone and keeping me company while I record. thank you to Jérémie for not getting mad when I record at weird times of day. thank you to Harry for making this album twice as good as it ever would have been without him. expect more music soon.
